10/10/2019 Naux Faux Enchanted
It's honestly been such a long and tiring road and I've considered giving up so many times but it seems like things are finally beginning to click. For a long time I was in the same boat where I would message promoters and send them my stuff and never get any sort of response just to see them book DJ's who don't bring anything unique or special to the table.Your best bet is make some friends in the scene and ask them to recommend you to a promoter. It helps a ton if you have people saying that they want to see you because in the promoters eye's those are ticket sales and let's be real, opening DJ's are really just there to get people in early and set the mood so popularity goes much further than talent (unfortunately). That's how I got on the Sub Octave lineup and that was the real starting point for me.From there, I just started hitting up local promoters and asking to be put on shows where I know the demand isn't as high. Just about anyone is going to want to play the big name shows but in my area not too many people would be itching to play a $5 Thursday night Ill.Gates show so I expressed my interest and let them know how I would be a good fit. It's really hard getting past that first wall of shows but once you get established people will start to take note. Each time I've played a show I've had someone random come up to me after and tell me how much they enjoyed my set for various reasons so I'll usually connect with them via facebook or whatever so that the next time I'm playing, they might come out and bring some of their friends. So that's my story. By no means am I an established DJ in the scene but this is kind of the route I took to get where I am now and I feel like you're in the same boat with having a massive online presence but still struggling to get local shows. You're an incredibly talented DJ and it's really just a matter of time before people start to notice. All you have to do is put your name out there, stay persistent, and eventually good things will come.EDIT: I didn't even realize how carried away I got with this comment lol.
The mesmerizing duo Naux Faux, composed by the bass mastermind BassNectar & his longtime friend Sayr are back! Having set the release, for their beautiful project, for this years Valentine’s day, they did not fail to deliver their promise when yesterday they released Enchanted, their dreamy, heartwarming LP.
Probably could have sent it as a PM but I'll leave it up in case anyone else was curious.
